There is something quite magical about Vergelegen, whether it is its dedication to bio-diversity and sustainability of Andre van Rensburg’s commitment to quality in making the wines. One thing is for sure; the wines never disappoint and are considered by many to be some of the finest wines being produced in South Africa.

Vergelegen Chardonnay AED 64

This is a beautifully made Chardonnay that screams quality. It is relatively light in weight but with a depth of flavour that magnifies beautifully as it’s swirled in the mouth.
Drink: 2-3 years      Food: Shellfish

Vergelegen Cabernet Merlot AED 62

Described as ‘arguably South Africa’s finest producer’ the winery could equally be described as the most beautiful in the Southern Hemisphere. The winery is like a James Bond set perched on top of a vast hill overlooking the vines and the historical estate. It was built more inside the hill rather than on top of it and with the same care and attention that Andre van Rensberg puts into his wines.

De Bortoli Family Selection Shiraz Cabernet AED 33

It is a rare accomplishment when a wine of this quality and at this price still manages to over deliver but somehow this relatively small family owned vineyard has managed to do just that. This wine is not one of the blockbustersthat we often see from Australia nor does it have the ability to age over decades. Quite simply “it does exactly what it says on the tin”.

Dourthe No. 1 Bordeaux Blanc AED 68

A very well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc, concentrated in structure revealing good acidity and a generous, full-flavoured freshness. The development of the aromas on the mouth is characterized by a fruity freshness (lemon and grapefruit zest, with delicate notes of passion fruits) with a long delicate notes of passion fruits) with a long lingering finish, It’s less extravagant than New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, but more aromatic than a Sancerre. Delightful.
