A marathon visit to wineries ‘down-under’

Imagine a journey visiting 16 wineries in 12 days in New Zealand and Australia.  It’s a tough job but someone’s had to find out what newly released wines taste like, discover new producers, check on the quality of MMI’s suppliers and ensure that we’re stocking the best range of wines possible.  Tony Dodds, Head of the MMI wine team stepped up to the mark and in between the meetings, nosings, sippings and tastings (not to mention a lot of flying and driving) he kept a regular diary.  Luckily he returned just before the recent tragic events in New Zealand.   You can read all about his journey here:

A Saintly end to it all – February 19th

Looks like rain…February 19th

Yarra and a little bit of France – February 17th

Tony landed in Christchurch, New Zealand on 7th February and headed straight to Marlborough for meetings with Delegat’s Wine Estates, makers of the extremely popular Oyster Bay, and then onto the Isabel Estate Vineyard.
