Boland Cellar – Five Climates

Situated in the picturesque Paarl Valley in South Africa, the wines of Boland Cellar are great examples of the unique climates of the Cape and the skills of an extremely talented, innovative bunch of winemakers that are innovative and focused on making wine of outstanding quality and value for money. The Five Climates wines represent the different climates that encompass the hamlet of Paarl allowing each single varietal to demonstrate their varietal character as well as the specific location that they are grown in.

Five Climates Chenin Blanc AED 42

Guava, pear and green apples abound. Racy acidity and a fresh dry finish that lingers in the mouth.

Five Climates Sauvignon Blanc AED 42

A mix of both warm and cool climate fruits displayed by the tropical fruit salad bowl followed by the freshness of fresh cut grass and herbal notes. Very lively.

Five Climates Shiraz AED 42

Soft dark berry fruits supplemented with lashing of spice and pepper with a subtle note of oak.

Five Climates Cappupinoccinotage AED 42

The flavours of this wine is in the name…. Cappu PINO ccino TAGE. We have the infamous Chocolate Block named after food and now there is a wine named after a style of coffee. Don’t be put off and think that it’s a gimmick, this is a crackerjack of a wine and one that both the connoisseurs and novices will enjoy.

Poggio San Polo – A Room with a View

The region of Montalcino in Tuscany is absolutely stunning. Rolling hills, sunflowers and medieval towns dominate this part of Italy and it would be hard not to be moved by the region’s beauty.  These wines take inspiration from the region and the dedication of the talented team of winemakers and grape growers of Allegrini who are now the estate’s owners.

Poggio San Polo Rubio AED 75

This is a full bodied style of Sangiovese that displays all the hallmarks of great wine. It’s intense, complex with great balance and a lingering length that drifts on and on. Dark sour cherries dominate a rich palate of spice with elegant tannins. 

Drink: 3-5 years      Food: Osso Bucco

Poggio San Polo Brunello di Montalcino AED 189

The flagship wine of the estate and of Tuscany. This is a modern style Brunello with rich briary fruits, hints of coffee and cedar notes with fine grained tannins and a finish that last forever. A serious wine with a real ability to age.

Drink: 10-15 years      Food: Slow cooked rabbit stew
