In the pink – Rosé wines to try!
Here is a trio of wines which make exceptional drinking in the heat of the Dubai . Rosés can be refreshing enough to drink on the hottest day but still retain some of the character of their red wine cousins. We’d love to know what you think of them in the comments section below. Download the tasting notes here.
Chateau Musar Cuvee Rosé – The name Chateau Musar is synonymous with quality wine in Lebanon and the Cinsaut and Obaideh grapes of this rosé are harvested in the Bekaa Valley. before oak and bottle aging. This wine displays a harmonious blend of New and Old Worlds showing mature fruit flavours with a nice freshness.
False Bay Rosé – As with all the False Bay range, wine maker Werner Engelbrecht has achieved individual character at an affordable price with this wine. A delicate and fruity rosé with delicious summer fruits balanced with a hint of spice.
Chateau d’Esclans Whispering Angel – Decanter Magazine described the ’08 vintage as the most aptly named wine we’ve tasted this year; Jancis Robinson, ‘the best Pink wine to have come my way’. We think you’ll love this delicate salmon pink rosé full of vibrant fruits and flavours, from the best producer in Provence. It’s very special, a simply great rosé wine.
All three wines go well with Mediterranean food, seafood or on their own as an aperitif. Let us know your view through rosé-tinted glasses (in the comments below).
